A-1 Overview
This appendix provides an overview of the steps required to upgrade an existing eServer computer to
the new soware release eServer v1.20 or greater.
A-2 Updating DNS Name or Static IP Address Settings
A-2.1 Overview
This section covers the steps needed to modify your eServer / Magellan project to work correctly with
eServer v1.20 or greater.
The installation package for eServer v1.20 or greater automatically congures the c:\MyWebPages\index.htm le
as required. You do not need to make any changes to the internal settings of this le. However, ensure to congure
the properties of the MyWebPages directory to allow authorised access, as described in 2-5 - Security Access to the c:\
MyWebPages Directory.
NOTE
There are many changes to setup eServer v1.20 or greater which users of previous versions may not be aware of. It is
recommended to read through the Upgrade Guide for eServer 1.20 or Greater to be prepared for the revised installation
and setup processes for the site computer.
Ensure to backup your entire project prior to upgrading to eServer v1.20 or greater. Also, take note of all required
project settings such as the internal/external DNS name or static IP address information (located in the c:\
MyWebPages\aircon.htm le if using default settings) as you will need this to complete the upgrade successfully.
To complete the upgrade you will need to install the new eServer v1.20 or greater. Furthermore, you will require
the use of Magellan Builder v1.20 or greater to modify the following internal project settings (DNS name or static IP
address) and alter IIS Settings to use the new index.htm le and create a new MIME le type.
IMPORTANT
To complete these steps you will require existing project settings for internal/external DNS name or static IP address
information.
